Terms of Service

Last updated: [placeholder — set when this policy is actually published]

These terms govern your use of Afrovia. It is currently scaffolding — each section below is a placeholder for real, reviewed terms, not the terms themselves.

Afrovia is a marketplace, not a service provider

[Placeholder: state clearly that Afrovia connects customers with independent business owners, is not itself the provider of any listed service, and is not a party to the agreement between customer and business owner — this disclaimer is a hard requirement per the roadmap scope, not optional boilerplate.]

Accounts

[Placeholder: eligibility, account accuracy, one account per person, account suspension for policy violations (see AccountStatus in the data model).]

Booking and payment terms

[Placeholder: describe the booking lifecycle (request → accept/decline → payment capture on confirmation), cancellation and refund windows — match business-rules.md's Bookings section exactly, don't restate a different version here.]

Platform fee

[Placeholder: disclose that Afrovia takes a platform fee on completed bookings, and where the current percentage is published — see PLATFORM_FEE_PERCENT, a business-configured value, not invented here.]

Business owner obligations

[Placeholder: accurate listings, honoring accepted bookings, completing identity verification, responding to customers in good faith, complying with any applicable local business/licensing requirements.]

Prohibited conduct

[Placeholder: no fraud, no circumventing the platform to avoid fees, no harassment, no fake reviews, no uploading content you don't have rights to — cross-reference business-rules.md's Moderation section.]

Reviews and content

[Placeholder: reviews must reflect a real completed booking, business owners cannot delete or edit reviews on their own profile, reported content is subject to admin moderation — see business-rules.md's Reviews section.]

Limitation of liability

[Placeholder: standard marketplace liability limitation language — needs actual legal drafting, not a template guess.]

Governing law and disputes

[Placeholder: which jurisdiction's law applies, and how a dispute between Afrovia and a user (distinct from the in-app Dispute feature between customer and business owner) is handled.]

Changes to these terms

[Placeholder: how and when updates are communicated to users.]
